The Sea Kings Varsity faced off against Mira Vista in the second game of their Day 1 doubleheader at the Desert Cities Baseball Tournament. As in the day’s first game, the Sea Kings Varsity struggled to generate offense. In the end, Mira Vista secured a 1-0 victory.
Mira Vista scored the only run of the game in the top of the fourth inning when they secured a two-out walk followed by a wild pitch, a stolen base and an error on the Sea Kings catcher. That single run proved to be enough, as the Mira Vista pitchers held the Sea Kings to three hits and struck out thirteen batters.
The Sea Kings attempted to mount a comeback late in the game, but could not deliver the needed clutch hit, and ultimately left five runners on base over the final two frames.
Isaiah Vasquez (‘25) was excellent in relief for the Sea Kings, ending the game having pitched four innings, surrendering only one hit, no earned runs and striking out five.
