Sea Kings Varsity Combines Great Pitching and Timely Hitting to Defeat East Valley

The Sea Kings Varsity topped East Valley by a score of 5-1 in their third game at the preseason Desert Cities Baseball Tournament. The Sea Kings paired solid defense with excellent pitching to secure their first victory of the tournament.

Vincent Menard (‘25) got the scoring started for the Sea Kings in the third inning when he doubled in two runs. Menard would end his day one for two plus a hit by pitch to go along with his two RBIs.

Max Brengal (‘27) and Kyle Gameros (‘25) each drove in runs for the Sea Kings in the top of the seventh inning to put the game out of reach. Gameros reached base in each of his at-bats on the day.

East Valley finally cracked the scoreboard with a run on a pair of extra base hits in the bottom of the seventh inning to make the final score 5-1.

Brooks Johnson (‘27) started for the Sea Kings and picked up the victory on the bump. He pitched four innings of no run, two-hit baseball, while striking out three.
