Sea Kings Junior Varsity Loses First Road Game of the Season

March 4, 2025

The San Juan Hills Stallions pounded out thirteen hits, including seven extra-base hits, on their way to an 8-1 victory over the Sea Kings Junior Varsity.

The Sea Kings were limited to four hits on the day, but did get production out of the top of their lineup. Leadoff man Max Brengel (‘27) was one for three with a double and a walk, while extending his season-long on-base streak to four games. Brengel scored the Sea Kings only run when he was driven in by Prescott Nyman (‘27), who produced an RBI for the fourth straight game. Number three hitter Cash Burns (‘27) accounted for three total bases, as he went two for three including a double.

Starter Brooks Johnson (‘27) took the loss for the Sea Kings after a two-out error opened the floodgates to four unearned Stallions’ runs in the first inning. On the season, Johnson has pitched to an excellent 4:1 strikeout to walk ratio.

Nick DeSouza (‘27) finished the game on the mound for the Sea Kings and came out of the bullpen firing strikes. He allowed no runs over one and two-thirds innings pitched, while compiling a 74% strike percentage.

The Sea Kings Junior Varsity will return to the diamond on Friday, March 7 seeking their first win of the season as they face the Tesoro Titans.
