Sea Kings Junior Varsity Topped By Fountain Valley

The Sea Kings Junior Varsity fell to the Fountain Valley Barons 4-1 on Tuesday in game that saw the Sea Kings squander numerous scoring opportunities.

Sea Kings starter Prescott Nyman (‘27) pitched four innings and allowed two runs, one each in the first and second innings, on two hits.

The Sea Kings battled back to cut the lead in half in the top of the third inning when they loaded the based and then scored on a passed ball. The inning ended with runners stranded on second and third.

In both the fourth and fifth innings, the Sea Kings lead off the inning with a triple, but were unable to bring home a run in either inning.

The bottom of the fifth inning saw the Barons stretch their lead when they scored a run on a pair of extra-base hits.

In the top of the sixth inning, the Sea Kings again stranded two runners on base.

Fountain Valley added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the final score 4-1.

In the game, Max Brengel (‘27) had a pair of singles, which extended his hitting streak to seven games and on-base streak to nine games.

Nyman was one for three with a triple, while Crosby Eddy (‘27) was two for three with a triple and a run scored.

The Sea Kings Junior Varsity faces off with Fountain Valley again on Wednesday, March 26, this time at home.
