The Sea Kings varsity launched their 2025 campaign with a 2-0 victory over the Mission Viejo Diablos.
The Sea Kings were able to scratch across an unearned run in each of the first two innings thanks to two errors on the part of the Diablos, and that was all the support the Sea Kings pitchers needed.
Reigning Sunset Wave League MVP Stevie Jones (‘26) started for the Sea Kings and earned the victory, pitching five innings of two hit baseball, while striking out six. Stonehill College-commit Marcello Anelli (‘25) took over in the sixth inning and closed out the game, allowing one hit and recording three strikeouts over the final two frames.
Jones also lead the charge on offense, going one for three and tallying the game’s only RBI. Ganon Overfelt (‘25) reached base three times for the Sea Kings with a hit and two walks.
