The Sea Kings Varsity dug themselves out of an early three-run deficit and ultimately secured a 5-3 victory over the Dana Hills Dolphins on Friday. The Sea Kings Varsity is now 3-0 on the young season.

Stevie Jones (‘26) pitched a complete game for the Sea Kings while scattering four hits and two walks over the seven innings to record an outstanding WHIP of 0.86. Jones also struck out six Dolphins.

The Sea Kings started their comeback in the top of the third inning with a two-out rally. Jackson McDonald (‘25) singled and advanced to second base on an error by the Dolphins’ right fielder. Princeton-commit Vincent Menard (‘25) then lined an 0-2 pitch into left field to score McDonald.

The big blows were back-to-back doubles by William Chiechi (‘25) and Ganon Overfelt (‘25) that allowed the Sea Kings to score the tying and go-ahead runs. The Sea Kings then tacked on an insurance run when Mark Solomon (‘25) singled to score Overfelt.

First baseman Menard was three for three on the day and is now hitting .556 on the season. Designated hitter Solomon finished up his day going two for three at the plate.
